The Holidays are officially here! December is the most wonderful month of the year, and what better way to celebrate it than filling your time with festive activities the whole family can enjoy. The Woodlands is an area that is focused on community, and there are so many wonderful organizations that put on Christmas events for locals to enjoy!

Every year, the Ice Rink at Town Center opens for two months around the Holiday season, complete with holiday music and Christmas lights on view. With tables and concessions, this is a great place to have a holiday party, a family night out or just pop over for a few hours on a winter afternoon.

Looking at Christmas Lights is a fun way to get out of the house and spread holiday cheer! While there are always hayrides, you can also do your own tour. Prepare some cocoa, hop in the car, and turn on some Christmas music while you explore the neighborhoods. Some of the best light displays can be found on Tangle Brush Drive, within the neighborhood of Creek Pines. This will be their 20th annual display, in honor of a previous resident who passed away from an auto-train accident in 2000. If you’re in the market for a home, this is a great excuse to explore the different neighborhoods and see what’s available.

On Saturday, December 14th, the neighborhood of Creekside Park is putting on their third annual Winter Wonderland event at their Village Green. This is a free family-friendly event, including face-painting, a petting zoo, games, and more. Even Santa Claus will be there for a quick photo op with your little ones!

Christmas is a time of giving. Participating in the Angel Tree is a thoughtful way to celebrate this year, and a great tradition to start with your family. The Salvation Army puts up Christmas trees around town every December, filled with ornaments featuring the name of a local child in need, and their Christmas wishes. You can pick up an ornament to shop for on a tree at Woodlands Mall, or the Woodlands Church – where you can even sign up to volunteer for the program. For more information, you can click here.

We encourage you to get out and enjoy the community this December! There are an endless amount of events, volunteer opportunities and Christmas experiences for you to enjoy.
